Floating above the <a href="https://rising.melbourne/festival-program/the-wilds">The Wilds</a> biosphere is our sparkling glasshouse bistro, The Lighthouse—an intimate, plant-filled, 70-seat dining room celebrating the sustenance the earth, fields and oceans provide.
The Lighthouse is RISING’s headline fine-dining experience, led by acclaimed chef David Moyle—you know him from Franklin and Longsong (and as The Saturday Paper food editor). This year he’s joined by Jo Barrett and Matt Stone (futurefoodsystem, formerly Oakridge Wines), whose cooking mission is to find a viable future for the land’s bounty.
Over a multi-course procession of dishes, the trio elevate overlooked ingredients into luxurious forms with a joyous feast honouring the integrated food systems that sustain us all. Ferments, ocean treasures, freshest-of-the-fresh vegetables and a glorious wood-fired rotisserie await.
And for full palate synthesis, Blackhearts &amp; Sparrows founder Jess Ghaie matches wines, from underground producers—rarely-seen drops teeming with effervescent acids, textural sugars and tannins. Finish your meal with a cocktail or nightcap on the deck, overlooking The Wilds’ fluoro fantasy.
Bookings at The Lighthouse are limited and essential. Tickets include a four-course set menu (omnivore or vegan) and entry to The Wilds; drinks are extra.

The Lighthouse is able to cater for pescatarian, vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and dairy free dietary requirements. Unfortunately other dietaries and food allergies cannot be accommodated as this is a special event with a set menu 
The Lighthouse is a dining event with a set menu. Please select your session time and party size, then select the appropriate package for each guest.

Entry to The Wilds is included in your ticket to The Lighthouse—explore before or after your booking.
Please note that all transactions will incur fees of up to $4.

The Lighthouse

A bespoke pathway has been created that meanders through the Bowl grounds. Due to existing slopes within the venue and the length of this one-way path (1.8-2km), this event requires assisted access for wheelchair users and those with restricted mobility.

If you have accessibility requirements you are encouraged to book a free companion ticket, so that a friend or carer may assist you along the pathway. There will be numerous rest points available along the journey and event staff available to assist if required. Animals (except registered assistance animals) are not permitted inside the venue.

ACCESSIBLE PARKING

There are four 4-hr wheelchair accessible parking spaces available on Linlithgow Avenue at the bottom of Gate 1. Alternatively the Arts Centre Melbourne Car Park is approximately 10 minutes from the entrance to the Bowl and has wheelchair accessible parking available on the bottom level.

ACCESSIBLE DROP OFF

There is no formal drop off area onsite, however there is a small break in parking with curb cut access on Linlithgow Avenue at the bottom of Gate 1, which can be used for a quick drop off if needed.

Gates 1 and 1A.

ACCESSIBLE BATHROOMS

Accessible toilets are located behind the Tier E stalls seating and near Gate 1, behind the lawn deck area.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Nearest accessible train stop: Flinders Street Station is a short tram ride of 10-15 minute walk from the venue. Outside Flinders Street Station, trams travel south on St Kilda Road to the venue.

Nearest accessible tram stop: Tram stops along St Kilda Road are wheelchair accessible, however not all trams servicing those stops are low floor. Tram tracker has information as to which tram will be a low floor tram.
